Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial Osteopathy is often separated out as a different type of Osteopathy altogether. However it is just one of the many modalities of treatment that an osteopath can choose from.

Cranial osteopathy is a gentle manipulative technique that works mainly, but is not limited to, the bones of the skull. Using gentle palpation we feel for the subtle movements of the body known as the involuntary motion.

This form of treatment may be different from what you have experienced from osteopathic treatments in the past. It is very gentle and seemingly passive, with little apparent movement taking place. This is usually an effective treatment for people who are unable to relax; migraine sufferers and those with cervicogenic headaches. It also provides a gentle treatment modality that is suitable for infants and young children.
